Living Out My Dreams in Athens

When I was a kid, I was obsessed with Greek mythology. The reason? The Percy Jackson series, of course. I was so into it. I mean, really, I did learn a lot. After obsessing over those books, I took a lot of time to learn about the mythology beyond them, like many other kids did.

This meant that, since reading those books as a child, I have really wanted to go to Greece. What’s better than understanding the stories behind why these giant ruins were built in the first place and actually getting to see them in person? Nothing, really.

Along with getting to see so many amazing places, the rest of Athens (or what I could see of it in a few short days) is amazing! For one, the flea market is so big that, even though we went everyday, we still didn’t see half of it. Also, eating real Greek food in Greece? It’s a pretty good time.

Athens also wasn’t all that pricy. Overall, I’d have to say that Athens is a great city, both for its history and culture, as well as its people.
