The plane trip was neither exciting nor eventful, but there was a surprisingly wide selection of movies and music at your disposal. On the plane they served us 3 meals and drinks more frequently than that. Checking in to immigration was a bit of a task simply because the people with stays longer than 3 months had to use a separate line, which had not yet been opened. This delayed us about 45 min, so not too bad for an airport. The funny thing about traveling east and jumping the date line is that being awake for 28 hours doesn’t feel as bad as one might expect. Though I suppose this is mostly due to the lack of energy required while on the flight for 13 of those 20 hours.
The process of getting to the dorms from the airport is incredibly simple and streamlined. The dorms are narrow, but tall and with plenty of storage space for my luggage. The one item that I forgot to bring was an outlet converter, because all the outlets in the building are 2 pronged. Luckily the dorm manager (Oikawa-san) was able to lend me a converter.
