One of the most popular dish here in Germany is Polish Sausage which is grilled with some form of potato either baked or in form of fries topped with curry sauce which is like ketchup. The name of this meal is called Currywurst.
My favorite thing that I ate while I was in Germany was this Turkish dish named Döner Kebab. You can find Döner shops all throughout Germany and made differently. It is basically chicken or lamb (your choice) topped with veggies lettuce, tomato and cucumbers along with choices of sauce for dressing. It is like a gyro but much better.
Dining in restaurants in Germany is completely different compared to an experience you would have in U.S. As Americans we have the reputation to be loud, in Germany it is opposite the people are quiet while they eat speaking only in low voices. We were always the loudest group at every restaurant. The waiters do not remember the meals that each person orders they just bring out the food and expect you to know what you ordered. They are paid more in wages and therefore do not expect tips however we still tipped them a few €s.
